Laxfield Farms: An Overview of the Historic Grounds at 2 Laxfield Road

The property at 2 Laxfield Road spans approximately 22.56 acres of pristine, park-like landscape. Known historically as "Laxfield Farms," this highly private property represents one of the largest private, contiguous residential parcels in the municipality. Built in 1901, the compound masterfully fuses historic, turn-of-the-century architecture with thoroughly updated luxury structures, steepened in local heritage. Named after a cherished family estate in Suffolk, England, the grounds and surrounding acreage were originally designed at the turn of the 20th century to serve as a self-sustaining country farm compound. Today, the parcel seamlessly blends formal English landscape architecture with expansive, untouched natural woodlands.

Join us for a docent-led tour of the beautiful deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln at 51 Sandy Pond Road, followed by lunch at the Tack Room (145 Lincoln Rd, Lincoln).

Cost: $25 for admission ticket + private tour. Members pay for their lunch at the Tack Room.

Annual CGC Holiday Wreath Making Workshop - Thursday (11/19/2026)

Join the CGC members for this annual favorite wreath-making workshop to kick off the holiday season. The workshop will be held in the lower level of St. Peter's Episcopal Church (320 Boston Post Road).

Cost: $45 per wreath. Additional wreaths can be purchased by selecting the number of "additional wreaths" at checkout. Also additional guests can be added at $45/guest.

Join us to decorate the interior and exterior of the GBT. Our CGC Board meeting will be held at the GBT on Wednesday, December 2nd, 10 am. The exterior decorating will begin right after the board meeting. In case of rain Wednesday, exterior decorating will be on Thursday, Dec. 3rd.

The theme this year is "A Winter's Tale" - designs based on stories of the holiday season. Winter, the solstice, Christmas or celebrations can be prompts for this year's theme. The Mitten and Velveteen Rabbit have been claimed.

We will be decorating the interior of the GBT on Thursday, Dec. 3rd and Friday, Dec. 4th from 10 am - 4 pm. We've added a time slot on Friday, Dec. 4th, 4pm - 6pm, to setup for the Champagne Reception in the evening. We appreciate your help for this annual festive event at the GBT.

Please signup for our annual CGCW favorite. Members work in teams of 2-3 people to create a floral arrangements inspired by an assignmed artwork. This is inspired by the MFA's annual Art in Bloom event in the spring each year.

Each team will have a member who has participated in the past and can lead the team. Don't miss this fun event - sign up to be a member of a team.

We are looking forward to our members joining us at the GBT to set up and price the plants on Wednesday afternoon. All members should signup for at least one shift of the sale and purchase $40 of plants OR make a donation to our only fundraiser of the year.

Members can shop the plant sale from 5-7 pm. Members will pay cost plus 20% for product up to $500 and cost plus 10% on orders over $500.
